news update :: pokemon a new frontier MMORPG

this group started on Mar 26, 2012 it is now April of 2013 it seems there have a lack of activity here lately or is some people losing motivation to continue as always we need the sprites finished for all pokemon including the ones used in the overworld , my current function is for the RPG maker and its resources since i can find them easily, i may also be forced to also apply to doing sprites myself through the use of PS and painter. i am thinking of starting a roleplay in here just to spur the activity if anyone is interested leave a message here i will do it if enough people respond , i will now start looking for other DMs here

i leave the story to the founder here i will be the dungeon master for role play here through chat and play by post.  as well as doing anything relating to the RPG maker. to roleplay one needs the following 2 sheets posted one for the trainer, and one for each pokemon obtained during roleplay

age (Be reasonable your human)
badges: ( this is trainer level 1-8 or 0)
Region (What Region are you from? Please tell use what city as well)
appearance ( use detailed text and/ or include a picture. This is deviantart )
persona (Min. 5 lines, tell us what makes them tick, what do they like? What do they dislike, things like this.)
team (List your pokémon in order you captured them, Max. 6 at a time. Include their nicknames if applicable, and specify gender , a separate sheet for each one obtained )

the role play will be done in a manner similar to dungeons and dragons regarding NPCs the use of D&D dice is optional but if used only the 20 sided dice is needed in this group. this is a security measure to prevent god modding and meta gaming

d20 = 20 : critical hit
d20 = 1   : miss

there will also be attribute mods  regarding damage


the DMs reserve the right to modify the attack grid during roleplay

No effect : the attack is negated
Not very effective : attacks suffer a -2 penalty
Normal no change
Super-effective  attacks gain a +2 mod

the campaign setting will be one of the 7 places listed chosen randomly by the DM prior to the roleplay, the starting point will typically be a city. since this is roleplay all cannon pokemon will be used as well as any pokemon OCs posted in the group

- this is primary for the use of RPG maker so one needs a approval to join unless it has already been open
- if members leave the group, the staff here will automatically do something to the pokemon and its trainer. be aware of this
- follow DA rules
- treat others the way you wish to be treated, respect.
- during role-play always act in character
- no cannon pokemon characters or the trainers used in the pokemon RPG maker game  period. It shows an extreme lack of creativity when all you do is take and existing thing and use it.
This role-play is for Original Characters ONLY. This is limited to the character themselves and what their powers were. You may still use images of these characters for anything you need.

shiny

Shiny's are classified as a rare mutation in the breeding chain (certain varieties that don't breed will be explained as they are asked as there are to many to list) however, you may have 1 Shiny per character, so choose wisely.

legendary
these cannot be captured they are used in events only the ones posted in the group will be used as the legendary pokemon and no more will be added. the current DM for that session will decide if others will be added

rares
these are useable with consent of a staff member and they will decide on which species is considered  a rare if used mainly because they are hard to find, aggressive or territorial

===  roleplay guidelines ===

#1 No god-modding, God Modding is when you say that regardless of situations you guarantee something has happened. This can be anything from saying that you out right killed a character because you hit them, or that you blew up a city with a single spell (Keep in mind that it is likely that the SS Rank Tomes would have this kind of destructive power)

#2 No Power Playing, Power Playing is when you control what your opponent does and does not do. Auto-hitting and Auto-dodging are both a kind of power play. Controlling what the other character is feeling or any of their 5 senses is also a style of Power Playing and will not be tolerated.

#3  No Meta Gaming, Meta Gaming is a situation where you use something to your characters advantage when the character would not know about it IN Character. It is also called Out of Character Knowledge.

#4 you can only have one team , feel free to rotate pokemon in your team from time to time. captured pokemon only
